Of all the forms of communication,
music is indeed the most powerful and longest remembered.
Thank you for patiently guiding him and knowing just what he needed to succeed and feel good about himself.

Sure, we understand that no matter the discipline there is work and dedication to attaining quality ability. We also understand that if you enjoy and are excited about what you are doing the progress made and the rate at which things are learned grows exponentiolly.
At Excell we don't just teach an instrument. We teach music. Then we perform that music through instruments.
Beginning with a solid understanding of basic theory, note recognition and rythym we create a platform by which each student will excel.
Building off of this platform, each of our students are taught to play their chosen instrument using proper technique..
Whether Guitar, Voice or Piano, Excell Music strives to build a foundation for life long learning and appreciation of music in each of our student's lives.
For the purchase of a piano we strongly suggest Bill Miller Piano. Mr. Miller is dependable and trustworthy and conducts business with professional excellence and integrity.

We add the excitement of skill development and technical accuracy, the enhancement of conceptual understanding, and the gratification of performance as we produce highly trained, skilled musicians at every level.
We want our students to experience the life-long joy, the self-fulfillment, and the personal gratification of being musicians that EXCELL!
A student progress report, written by your student's teacher detailing the areas of growth your student is experiencing, will be sent via email
to you.
At Excell Music we understand that we are partnering with our student's and parents to create a positive learning experience. To accomplish this, communication is key!

We establish a strong foundation in musical concepts from the beginning using Bastien and Alfred graded books and supplement with FJH curriculum for special music and recitals.
To solidify staff reading, musical terms, special markings, dynamics, keys and key signatures, intervals and chord structure we incorporate the Excell Theory Workbook. As the student progresses we utilize Hanon to develop finger strength, dexterity, rhythm and fluid movement
with the purposes of training the gift of God placed in each human and duplicating a passion for music.. As the years have continued we have the shear joy of being a part as our students engage, develope, accomplish and excell in their study.
Many students continue their study all through their adult lives, others will use the discipline to perform and attain college scholarships and still others will simply retain the knowledge and enjoy music for a lifetime.
Each of our student's are taught by trained, degreed and certified professionals who know how to engage their students in learning, develop their skills as musicians and assist them in accomplishing

I've always had two passions: making music and helping others grow. Being able to combine those two passions has been a dream-come-true for me. Every time I see a student finish a song they've mastered and have that "look what I did!" victory on their face, I'm reminded of why I do, what I do. I also love to sing and very much enjoy the outdoors.
I spend my free time working with my church, spending time with my friends and Henry (my dog!), traveling (when I can!) and staying organized.

I have taught music in both public and private schools for 20 years in Jamaica, Bahamas and the United States. I have trained choirs and soloists for competition and have won several awards in Jamaica.
Song writer, producer and radio host for a children's program, I have also directed musicals and other productions for Christmas, Easter and other occasions for schools and churches. I owned and operated a piano studio and have entered students to sit the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (London) exams.

I am Sue. I bring Miles for his piano lessons on Mondays. I just wanted to send this note to you thanking you for “empowering” Miles to grow in his love for playing the piano.
I remember when he first started and we played very basic “notes” and his small hands searched for those beginning “notes”. We labeled the keys in the beginning to help him (and me). Now the labels have been removed and I can sit anywhere in the room knowing by “listening” to the song whether he is on track. He knows very quickly himself when he misses a key.
There was a time when he needed a “nudge” to get those piano lessons done!!! Now each morning as soon as his breakfast is done and he is dressed (around 8:15a.m) he runs into the living room and eagerly “makes beautiful music”. He loves an audience and if I am not quite there when he starts, he will stop and come find me because he knows I wouldn’t want to miss any of his beautiful music! Even the 3 schnauzers are part of his audience at times.
Miles seems to find such “peace” at the piano and all the worries of an 8 yr boy have been set aside as he finds such joy in making music and playing “recognizable” songs not just “NOTES”.
So, I am the “lucky one” who has watched him grow in his love for the piano and music in general. Thank you for patiently guiding him and knowing just what he needed to succeed and feel good about himself. He really seems to look forward to his weekly lessons and the one on one relationship that has developed between the two of you. May God continue to bless you in your work with many young hearts who are making wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Looking forward to another great recital on Saturday. I just wanted to share these thoughts with you and Thank You for encouraging and empowering Miles to know he can “do it”.
Lauren made her country stage debut when she performed at the Ada Opry in Ada, OK, on October 1st. She performed "Crazy" by Patsy Cline, and "The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis. She was invited back
More recently, Lauren was given the part of "Star to Be" in Bishop Kelly's production of Annie. It is a wonderful solo winthin the production number "NYC".
She has been invited to sing several songs at the Nowata Jubilee Opry Christmas Show in Nowata on December 17th. She will be singing a selection of Christmas and gospel songs.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share a touching story about our daughter's musical experience this year.
Thank You for nurturing, inspiring, encouraging her growing her love for music and for holding her hand throughout this wonderful journey!
Every year, some of our dearest friends invite us to their annual Independence Day celebration. It is always an exciting and festive occasion. This year was extra special, since it was the first Fourth of July that our family celebrated as proud citizens of the United States, following our citizenship naturalization earlier in the spring.
Coincidentally, several patriotic pieces were included in the curriculum, on which you and our daughter were diligently working. Our daughter asked if she could play them during the party and our hosts graciously accepted. As the celebration was in full swing and everyone was enjoying the great company, food, and delightful views of Claremore Lake from the front lawn of our friends' house, I noticed our daughter was missing from the playful group of kids running around. She had gone back inside the house and was quietly practicing her music pieces at the piano.
Playing was the best way to ease her performance excitement and anxiety.
I sat down close by to enjoy the moment.
As she was playing, her growing ease with the music was becoming increasingly audible and grew from a shy, quiet tune to the bold, festive melodies of The Washington Post March, The Stars and Stripes Forever, and The Marines Hymn - a very special dedication to our host, a long-time friend of his and a fellow Marine, and to our host's 94-year old father, who is a World War II veteran and participant in the
D-Day offensive on Normandy.
Gradually, as people were coming in and out of the house, some started coming closer and paused to listen and in a few minutes more began streaming into the living room where our 11-year old was practicing and enjoying her music. The practice grew into a performance with about twenty guests around the piano, three of them true American heroes, who knew the meaning of the holiday in ways the rest of us could not imagine. They were standing with a proud and joyful teary spark in their eyes.
It was such a special experience, one that we will cherish for a long time to come and will always remember on Independence Day! It was a moment, in which a young girl was able to touch the hearts of dear friends and our nation's heroes in the only way she knew - through her music - and express more than any words ever could.
Thank You for making that moment possible through your caring, loving, persevering, and inspiring work with our daughter!
